Order of Aeronautical Merit – Brazilian Air Force – October 2016

Awarded by the Brazilian Air Force to military personnel and civilians who have distinguished themselves in promoting Aeronautics or aviation development in Brazil. It is the highest honorary distinction of the Air Command.

His Excellency the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Michel Miguel Elias Temer Lulia, Grand Master of the Order of Aeronautical Merit, has decided to admit, into the Corps of Special Graduates of the Order of Aeronautical Merit, to the rank of Grand Officer, the Minister of State for Cities Bruno Cavalcanti de Araújo, for having rendered distinguished services to Brazilian Aeronautics.
To certify this, this diploma is issued, signed by the Chancellor and the Secretary, and sealed with the seal of the Order.

Translation of the Order of Aeronautical Merit- prize explanation:
Order of Aeronautical Merit
The Order of Aeronautical Merit, established by Decree-Law No. 5,961, of November 1, 1943, is intended to award:
Air Force personnel who have rendered notable services to the country or have distinguished themselves in the exercise of their profession; and
Civilian and military personalities, Brazilian or foreign, as well as Military Corporations and Civil Institutions, national or foreign, in recognition of the remarkable services rendered to Aeronautics.
The Insignia of the Order consists of a gold cross, enameled in white, on which is the symbol of the Brazilian Air Force, with the reverse side featuring the nationality of its aircraft. The ribbon is made of blue silk grosgrain with five white stripes.
It is the highest honorary distinction of the Air Command. For this reason, on October 23, Aviator and Brazilian Air Force Day, it is considered the official date for the bestowal of this significant Commendation.
